Yesterday, Arielle joined Emily Steen and Hannah Silver on a panel to discuss COVID-19 and the Built Environment for the LWD – League of Women Designers. There has been so much said about this topic, it was hard to know which topics would strike a chord. The panel became a lively conversation that (delightfully!!) had nothing to do with plexiglass and hand sanitizer. Much of the conversation circled around the topic of human connection – and how the built environment must support our need to connect while also meeting our desire for wellness and safety. They discussed how this can be addressed in both public and private spaces – and how the experience of isolation during the pandemic has heightened the importance of community and connection. The conversation was so fun and informative! Thank you to the LWD – League of Women Designers (especially Emily Steen and Kari Merkl) for producing events like this to support our community for over 10 years!
